Hubley Derby
RACES
In June 2025, we brought our homemade track to Jim Bob's Barbeque at the Las Cruces International Airport and they graciously let us set up inside the dining area.
The track is over 32' long and it barely fit in between the side wall and the front door!
There were 9 cars entered, from "restored" to "well used." Participating were Tim Gentzler, Donald Horn, Aurelio Montoya, Rick Black, and Nathan Jeffers.
Each car had to weigh no more than 21 ounces. Weight was added to most of the cars to approach the top weight.
After several rounds of double-elimination racing (and one accident that knocked Donald's car out of competition), the fastest car was built by Aurelio Montoya. Congratulations, Lelo!
